HDM260, HDMI Extender Over CAT5/6/IP 1080P Rx & Tx Pair (Replaces HDM220)

Send HDMI Signals Over a LAN

  • Plug & Play – Zero Configuration for Single Links

  • Up to 120m Over CAT6 (100m CAT5E / 80m CAT5)
  • Multi-Screen – 256 Transmitter with up to 256 Receivers

Adding a HDMI Mule gives you "Keyboard, Video & Mouse" control up to 120m over CAT5, CAT6 or even a LAN

DESCRIPTION:

The HDMI Mule Pro lets you keep your DVR or NVR locked away in one room while viewing and controlling it from a monitor or TV somewhere else entirely – all over a single network cable. Keep your recorder secure and out of sight in a server room or cupboard, then position a monitor, mouse and keyboard in reception or the office to view footage and drive the system as if you were sat in front of it.

Setup couldn't be simpler. A single ethernet cable plugs directly between the HDMI transmitter and the HDMI receiver – no network switch required. Or, for even more distance and flexibility, connect both units to a network switch – the most popular solution, providing up to twice the distance of a direct link. Over CAT5 you'll achieve approximately 80m, CAT5E 100m, and CAT6 up to 120m.

Where the Mule Pro really earns its name is multi-screen working. Connect a single transmitter to multiple receivers and every screen displays the same video source simultaneously – supporting up to 256 receivers at the same time. With just one transmitter there's no setup or configuration at all – simply plug the devices into the network and the link is made automatically.

Running more than one source? The free HDMI Mule Pro mobile app (Android & iOS) lets you link any transmitter to any receiver – just drag a transmitter icon onto a receiver on your phone screen and, within seconds, that screen switches source. The system supports up to 256 transmitters and 256 receivers, and devices can be named in the app (e.g. "Showroom TV", "Demo NVR") with names retained through power cycles.

The built-in USB extension carries mouse, keyboard and touchscreen control over the same link, making this a complete KVM solution for CCTV applications.

Network tip: Use a Gigabit switch, ideally with IGMP multicast support, to prevent network flooding when multicasting video – e.g. the Netgear GS305E works out of the box.

Please note: The HDM260 replaces the HDM220 and is not backwards compatible with it – HDM220 and HDM260 units cannot be mixed on the same link. HDM260 units can however be mixed with the 4K HDM270 range, with resolution limited to 1080p

Note: The HDM260 unit does not support Dolby Digital or DTS sound, as it only supports PCM. Consult the instruction manual or manufacturer of the source device to adjust to PCM audio transmission.
