Overview:

RRLY1 is an SPDT relay module, designed for switching powered equipment with standard magnetic reed switches. Including a standard magnetic reed switch in a powered circuit often results in premature failure of the reed, caused by it being driven far higher than the rating it is specified for. By separating the switch input from the powered portion of the circuit, RRLY1 allows any magnetic reed to act as an input for a switched circuit without risk of damage. Other types of dry switch like pushbuttons, keyswitches etc may also be used as inputs without issue. Two switch inputs are provided – they can work in tandem depending on the selected operating mode. N/O and N/C switching inputs are both accepted – the unit can reverse inputs to suit the devices in use where necessary.

A 10-way dip switch block provides the means to select the device operating mode, timers, input reversal, LED output and to reset the unit if necessary. All terminal blocks are wire-clamping & power input terminals are doubled – allowing for easy bridging of the input supply to the output relay where desirable. The onboard snubber circuit provides smooth operation, but it can optionally be excluded for applications that involve LEDs and similar low power components.

All this is contained in one of our low profile J20 junction box enclosures (90mm x 65mm x 26mm).

Operating Modes:

• FOLLOW - Relay immediately changes state based on the state of the switch input.
• TOGGLE -  Relay toggles on or off when the switch input opens.
• TIMED -  Relay switches on and holds for the configured time when the input switch opens, then turns off. Repeat inputs during the timed phase are ignored.
• TIMED WITH FOLLOW -  Relay switches on and holds for the configured time when the input switch opens, then turns off. If the switch input returns to the original state, the relay will switch off before the timer elapses.
• DELAY WITH FOLLOW - Relay waits for the configured time after the switch input opens, and then turns on. Relay will not turn on if the original switch state is restored before the delay time elapses. Relay turns off when switch state is restored.
• KEYSWITCH - Relay turns on when switch input opens. If a timer is configured, it will turn off when the timer elapses. Input at the keyswitch terminals will prevent the relay from turning on regardless of switch state, allowing the output to be locked in an unpowered state.
• TRANSIT - Both switch inputs are monitored, with the relay only operating when both are open. When either switch input closes, the relay turns off. If both switch inputs close, the unit notes this fault state and will not power the relay until resolved.

Timer Options:

• 0-60 Seconds, with 1s resolution
• 1-5 Minutes, with 1m resolution
• 5-60 Minutes, with 5m resolution
• 1-24 Hours, with 1h resolution

Electrical Rating:

RRLY will accept a DC input of 10-30VDC. Operating the unit outside of this range will produce a fault condition and the relay will not switch.
Current draw ~15mA inactive, 60mA max when in active state

Output relay is rated 30VDC / 250VAC / 6A MAX
